DONATION TO THE SOUTH CAROINA AQUARIUM OFFERS OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVED VISITOR EXPERIENCE IN 2007 Boat provides potential for new exhibit animals Charleston, S.C. November 30, 2006 Scout Boats, Inc. recently donated a new 28-foot 280 Abaco Series model to the South Carolina Aquarium, located in Charleston, SC. “The Scout 280 Abaco Series will provide a reliable seaworthy vessel for the South Carolina Aquarium to continually study and effectively collect marine species for display at their facility,” said Scout Vice President of Operations Dave Wallace. “We’re honored to make this donation to such a worthy cause.” "Scout Boats, along with four-stroke Yamaha engines, has provided the Aquarium with a dependable means by which Aquarium staff can safely and easily get offshore and collect those highly sought after specimens", says Jason Crichton, Director of Husbandry & Facilities for the South Carolina Aquarium. "This vessel will enable the Aquarium to get those animals we haven't been able to collect in the past, which will directly impact our guest experience." The South Carolina Aquarium, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is open Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. (last ticket sold at 5 p.m.) from April 1 to August 15 and is open Monday Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (last ticket sold at 4 p.m.) from August 16 to March 31. The Aquarium is closed Thanksgiving Day, Dec. 24, and Dec. 25. Admission prices are: Children 2 and under (free); Youth 3-11 ($8); Adults ($15); Seniors 62+ ($13).
