Scout Boats, Inc. Receives Export Achievement Certificate

Summerville, SC – Scout Boats, Inc. received an Export Achievement Certificate by the U.S. Department of Commerce for aggressively pursuing export sales and establishing an international network of Scout Boat Dealers.  Scout is one of twelve South Carolina-based companies being recognized.

The Certificate was presented on April 24th at an awards ceremony by South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Joe Taylor to Scout’s National & International Sales Manager Alan Lang.

“Receiving this award is a great honor for Scout,” said Lang. “We are thrilled to have our export success recognized.”

The Export Achievement Certificate was created by the U.S. Department of Commerce to recognize small and medium-sized companies and organizations that are clients of the Commerce Department’s U.S. Commercial Service, and have either successfully entered the international marketplace or have made their first export sale in a new market.  In addition, the award highlights the services provided by the Department of Commerce and is intended to encourage other businesses to export.

Scout began working with the U.S. Commercial Service in January 2001 taking comprehensive counseling sessions to prepare for international exporting.  Today Scout boasts a network of dealers in 9 countries worldwide.

Scout builds sportfishing, fish ‘n ski, walk around, flats and bay boat models ranging from 14’ to 28’, and will be debuting its largest model to date in model year 2008: the 350 Abaco. Since it’s founding nearly two decades ago, Scout Boat’s goal has been to manufacture the best-built boats in its distinctive sportfishing niches.  Each Scout hull is a true original, as the in-house research and design team works closely with
engineering to take concepts from blueprint to production more efficiently, growing the company’s world-class reputation for quality, strength, durability and value.
