The 242 is the largest model in the Dorado fleet--and is the perfect boat for both fishing and family fun offering the ultimate in comfort, style and performance. The 242 Dorado comes standard with port and starboard transom platforms with boarding ladders, and Scout’s revolutionary removable stern seat/wavegate that make it ideal for landing the catch of the day, or just enjoying a day of swimming and diving. With an overall length of 24’2” and wide beam of 8’6”, the 242 provides a roomy, safe boating experience for the entire family. The large console area contains ample room for the added convenience of a marine head option portside, as well as cushioned, adjustable captain’s chairs. The oversized walk-thru windshield offers safe access to the foredeck where you’ll find fully cushioned bow seating. The bow storage area contains a unique fold-out entertainment table with cup holders and a cooler as well. The 242 features tackle and in-floor storage compartments as well as a convenient tackle/rigging station. Rod storage lines the portside gunnel, and additional stainless steel rod holders come standard. A stainless steel rub rail adds a high-class look to the 242. The flush-mounted bow, stern and spring line cleats are also stainless. The 242 comes in exciting hull color options, from fighting lady yellow to flag blue. There’s also an optional 6-disk CD changer, Sirius Satellite Radio upgrade, ski tow bar and a recirculating bait well. Scout builds sportfishing, fish ‘n ski, walk around, flats and bay boat models ranging from 14’ to 29’, and will be debuting its largest model to date in model year 2008: the 350 Abaco.
